At request from a group of parents living in Discovery Bay, EFR Asia composed a First Aid course tailored to the needs of Domestic Helpers working with small children. This has never been done before in Hong Kong and Discovery Bay will have the scoop.
The 3rd EFR Domestic Helper Program course will be held at Discovery College this May 23rd. In a small group, Domestic Helpers will learn the basic skills to provide effective emergency care to children up to eight years and baby’s less than one year old. This course consist of 6 hours of self study prior to 8 hour classroom tuition and real life scenario exercises.
During the course the students will have to pass a written exam.
Emergency scenarios will be simulated with the help of CPR manikins, volunteers and lot’s of theatre blood. In turn students will act as emergency care provider supervised by an EFR Asia Instructor.
Besides all the requirements of a standard first aid course the students will also learn and practice making effective emergency calls in English.
Students who successfully complete this 8 hour course will be rewarded with the EFR certificate ‘Child and Infant Emergency Responder’ which is recognized internationally.
